Our Kids Competition is looking for a Young Whale WarriorSpirit of Gold Coast is searching for an energetic young person, motivated to take on the title of Young Whale Warrior and help spread the word about these wonderful, majestic creatures. Launched on July 10, the competition looks to crown the city’s most passionate young defender of these Gentle Giants. Often threatened, these marine creatures are seeking the help of inspired young guardians aged between 8 - 12 years old, from primary schools across the Gold Coast. All you need to do is submit a drawing, video or written entry and tell Spirit of Gold Coast why you are passionate about helping whales!
The contest is being kicked off by a series of educational talks in schools by Spirit’s resident Marine Biologist Zara King, who's looking to engage the local youth within the community in the hopes of encouraging a love and better understanding of these placid mammals.
"The search is aimed to foster and promote Gold Coast's next generation of marine-life guardianship and conservation. We're lucky to have the humpback highway on our doorstep, and feel it's our responsibility to create opportunities for our youngsters to connect with and to protect this natural phenomenon” ~ said Ms Del-Bianco - Spirit Hostess & Deckhand
